Today I started with the final part of my journey towards the CTA board. Within Salesforce we are lucky that you get a coach who will do an intensive three-month track in preparing you for the final board. This morning I had the first session. We discussed the specifics of the session and what we will focus on in the coming time. I watched this video by Steve Simpson: https:\/\/vimeo.com\/385737277<\/a>, and discussed with my coach the specifics that stood out for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the elements was information density. When you talk too much or too long it takes away the space to find clarification. This was all about the 40 minutes questions. If you take 2 minutes per question you can answer 20. Since the judges are searching to fill holes in your story, you can fill 20 holes, so if you talk too long per question you bring down the possibility of passing. Interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We discussed which tools to use during the board. It differs per person and you can choose from paper, laptop, leaflets. In the video of Steve, he said “Become Friends with Paper and Pencil”, my coach said: “Find what suits you best”. He used powerpoint and leaflets. He showed me how he made one empty slide with small header and the title “Actors\/Licenses” and then copied it a dozen times. After that edited the titles to the needed sections. In 5 minutes you have the basic setup in powerpoint, the diagrams that you will make on paper have placeholders then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  10. IAM<\/li>
  11. Sharing<\/li>
  12. Governance<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    And then once again on information density: When you start you say, I Am Ruben (when you’re called Ruben of course), Architect en then start with the solution of the case. So far for getting aquainted!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
